“No one has ever become poor by giving.” – Anne Frank

City Paper Company has been in the Birmingham community for over 120 years. We are extremely fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful city with rich history and a strong community. We have seen this city go through ups and downs and love seeing how far we’ve come. At City Paper we enjoy supporting our community and any various causes we believe in. City Paper has been a proud supporter of Jessie’s Place in Birmingham and every year we donate food and our time to this women’s and children’s shelter. Through such actions, we encourage our employees to do the same. Recently, we asked our sales reps to share the charitable causes they have supported in the last year.

Drew Warren, Area Sales Manager based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Drew has been with City Paper for over 4 years now and has done various charitable work around his community. Read about one of the more recent events he has attended.

“Recently, my wife and I participated in this charitable event called A Soldier’s Child. It benefits children of families who have lost parents or loved ones overseas in the military. My customer, Venture Express, sponsored the entire event and paid for every gift that was purchased. Then They hosted a gift wrapping and birthday party for 2 of the kids. They also decorated one of their tractor trailers in a full color wrap for the charity.

We all met up at Walmart one afternoon (probably 50 shoppers) and were given a sheet of information for each child. Their likes, hobbies, interests, age, gender, etc. Each person got to shop for 3 kids. We were all given buggies it was kind of like that old grocery store game show, we all scattered the store and loaded up our buggies with toys and clothes that those kids needed/wanted.”

Nadav Raviv, Account Executive based in Birmingham, Alabama

Nadav is one of our well known and successful Account Executives. He has been with City Paper for almost 4 years and has been supporting various charitable causes. Read about a few of the most recent events he has attended.

“As part of the City Paper/Hit Promotional team, we participated in the Down Syndrome of Alabama Annual Charity Golf Tournament.  Our team didn’t win, but one of City Paper’s own, Drew Warren, won the long drive.  The featured Ceremonial Tee shot was tee’d off by Bobby, a young man with Down Syndrome, who will represent Alabama in the Special Olympics next month.”

There is another, more ongoing project that Nadav participates in.

“I am on the board of YouthServe, a non-profit that focuses on growing relationships between inner and outer city kids through service projects, educational days, and a summer camp.”

Emily DelMarco, Account Executive based in Atlanta Georgia

Emily is another one of our remote employees who has been with the City Paper family for 4 years. She supports a cause that is very important to her. Below is a little about her experience

“The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is very near and dear to my heart - I lost a friend to the disease a few years ago. My husband and I are a part of the Atlanta CF community and participate in all the events around town. A perfect coincidence - my customer Choate Construction (another family owned business) is also very committed to the CF community due to a relative having CF.”

We at City Paper are very happy to know that our employees are present in their communities and help support causes they believe. We support all their hard work and commitments and hope that they continue to do so.
